Here is a brief trailer showing off Sony’s new motion controller, the Playstation Move. Are you guys going to get this? Enjoy! Links: Secondary channel: http:www.youtube.com/videogameportal Official website: us.playstation.com Playstation Move Information: PlayStation Move is an upcoming motion-sensing game controller platform for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game console by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). It was previously named PlayStation Motion Controller. Based on handheld motion controller wand, PlayStation Move uses the PlayStation Eye webcam to track the wand’s position, and inertial sensors in the wand to detect its motion. First revealed on June 2, 2009, PlayStation Move is slated for worldwide launch in Q3/Q4 2010. Hardware available at launch includes the main PlayStation Move motion controller, and an optional PlayStation Move sub-controller. It’s main competitors will be Microsoft’s Project Natal and Nintendo’s Wii motion controllers. Although PlayStation Move is implemented on the existing PlayStation 3 console, Sony states that it is treating Move’s debut as its own major “platform launch,” planning an aggressive marketing campaign to support it. In addition to selling the controllers individually, Sony also plans to provide several different bundle options for PlayStation Move hardware; including a starter kit with a PS Eye, a Move motion controller, and a Motion Control enabled game, priced under US$100; a full console pack with a PS3 console

This is an early tech demo for the PS2 Eye Toy, which is from 2003. This is basically what the PS Move does, so we know that they’ve been working on it before the Wii even came out (or at least came up with the idea first). Project Natal for the Xbox 360 is copying the eye toy.

Sony Playstation Move Motion Controller: First Look Yesterday, Sony named and discussed their motion controller they actually announced last June. During the event Last June, Sony did not actually name the device and they only showed a prototype. At the yesterday, (March 10th) event, Sony went more in debt with the device, and even named it the Sony Move. The Sony Move is a device similar to the WiiMote and even Project Natal. The Sony Move comes along with a sub-controller, kind of like the wii nunchuck. Both of the devices have a black plastic matte finish and a bunch of buttons. The sub-controller has two analog sticks, as well. Sony announced they will be selling the Move along with a Sony Eye webcam and a game for under $100. Sony also announced there will be 20 games relating the Move before April 2011.
